Sermon for August 16, 2020!
Good morning! Yes, I know it is raining but be glad you are here to see the rain. Please continue to keep all of those who are sick or hurt in your prayers! And now, to start your week off right, here is todays sermon:
Update on Howie posted by Lisa last night:
Latest Howie update… They cut back on pain meds and reduced the assistance from the vent to try and wake him up today. He did open his eyes and would blink and move his toes on command but was being stubborn (no surprise there) and wouldn’t wake up enough for them to be able to remove the tubes…So, they’re giving up for today and will try again tomorrow starting earlier in the day. Thanks again to all of you for your continued prayers.
Update on Howie!
For those who aren’t friends on Facebook with Ol’ Passapatanzy Store or Lisa, here is an update on Howie from Lisa that she posted this morning. Please continue to keep him in your prayers!
“Update on Howie this morning…
They were able to stabilize most of his bone injuries in surgery yesterday. He is back in the operating room this morning for them to do more work on his bladder to hopefully repair the tear and remove any fluid that has ended up where it shouldn’t be.
I can’t begin to tell you all how much I appreciate the calls, texts, IMs, and FB comments since this happened. That and prayer are what’s getting me through this. Howie has not been awake since he went into surgery yesterday at noon but when he wakes up, I will share all of your kind words with him. I know it will mean the world to him also. Please keep the prayers coming as he has a long road ahead of him. Love and appreciate all of you.”
Prayers Needed!
Howie Weadon is in need of prayers as he has been in a bad motorcycle accident this morning. Please keep him, Lisa Pruett Weadon, Jimmy Weadon and the rest of their family in your prayers! The following is from Lisa’s Facebook page: “Please keep Howie in your prayers. He was involved in a bad motorcycle accident early this morning in NC and will be undergoing surgery soon to repair a broken pelvis and multiple other breaks and dislocations in his arms and legs. Thank you all for your texts, calls and prayers.”
CONGRATULATIONS, FLETCHER’S CHAPEL & FRIENDS!
In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 25, verses 31-46, it is recorded how Christ will judge the nations. He will separate the people like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats and he will say to the righteous “ Come you who are blessed by my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food…….”
On Sunday March 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we had a drive-by, drop-off food drive in the parking lot at the church. The suggestion came from Jeff Morfit and the Nurture Committee. David Beals, John and Lori Radolinski, and Pam Thompson volunteered to help collect the food and Marie Williams delivered it to the food bank. Members and friends of the church donated forty-two bags of food.
The church is to be congratulated on this effort. For those who weren’t able to donate this time, there will be other opportunities in the future. Doesn’t it feel good to know Fletcher’s Chapel is among the sheep. May all of you be blessed!

Sermon for August 2, 2020!
Hello everyone! Well, we have gotten some of the much-needed rain we were wanting for our lawns and our farms and it looks like we will be getting more from the leftovers of Hurricane Isaias. Even now during the pandemic, we have so much to be thankful for everyday – from waking up to having a place to lay our heads at night and so much in between. Start your week by listening to the sermon from Barry below and then please take care and stay safe as you go through the rest of the week! And don’t forget to keep praying for our country and our families and friends!
FLETCHER’S CHAPEL FOOD DRIVE: DRIVE BY—DROP OFF
It has been months since we’ve done any serious mission work for our community. So, here is an opportunity for us to safely get involved in a food drive. On Sunday, August 9, we will be collecting food in the church parking lot. You can drive by any time between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and drop off non-perishable food items.
If you would like to contribute, but that time isn’t convenient, please contact Barry (540) 625-2539. I’ll arrange to pick up the food at your convenience. Please prayerfully consider what you can do; the need is great, and the resources are not.
Be blessed. Pastor Barry
Sermon for July 26, 2020!
Good morning! Hope you are all keeping safe and well! Don’t forget that even though we are not together at church, we can still keep in touch and keep all of our family and friends in our prayers! Please keep Diane Pelletier in our prayers as she lost her brother, Patrick (Pat) Pelletier, on July 16th.
