Sermon for May 2, 2021!

What a beautiful day! Don’t forget next Sunday will be collection Sunday for both the Canned Goods and The Loose Change. More information will be coming regarding drop off etc. for those not back at Church yet. Enjoy your day and the week to come but first let’s start with this morning’s sermon.

Sermon for April 25, 2021!

Good afternoon! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this beautiful Sunday given to us by our Lord! Please continue to keep those who are sick and those who have lost loved ones in your prayers. I saw something on Facebook that I really loved: “Today, before asking God for anything, let’s thank him for everything”!

Sermon for April 18, 2021!

Good morning! I hope you have all had a wonderful and blessed week and that your week to come offers many enjoyable times! We pray that those who are sick are healed soon and those who have lost loved ones can feel the God’s hands of comfort in their time of sorrow. Now let’s start the week off with a new sermon from Pastor Barry. May God bless you all!

Sermon for April 11, 2021!

Good morning! For those who may not get the recorded phone messages, we are now recording the live sermon on Sunday morning during the actual service. Therefore, we won’t be able to post it on the website and Facebook until later in the morning after the service ends. But we will post it as soon as possible on Sunday mornings after the service. Thank you for understanding. Hope everyone has a wonderful day on this beautiful Sunday and a great week to come! Now here is today’s sermon.

REMINDER: FOOD DRIVE AND LOOSE CHANGE COLLECTION SCHEDULED FOR NEXT SUNDAY, APRIL 11th!

Don’t forget that next Sunday, April 11th, is the day for our monthly Food Drive and Loose Change Collection to be held.

Since we have started back to In Church Worship, we will collect the Canned Food and the Loose Change Collection during church as was done before COVID!

However, if you aren’t comfortable attending services yet but would still like to drop off food and/or loose change you may do so after the service on Sunday between 10:00am and 11:00am at the side parking lot (look for a table setup).

This month is another opportunity for us to safely get involved in a Food Drive and at this time we will also collect for our Loose Change Offering for the Heifer Project (paper money is accepted as well).

If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Barry at (540) 625-2539.

Canned Food Offering: This food will be sent to the King George Social Services Food Bank.  King George County residents who need assistance may receive a two- or three-day emergency supply of food once a month with proof of residency.

The Loose Change Offering: These gifts will go to Heifer International whose mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.  By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, the Heifer Project empowers them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self-reliance and hope. With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer Projects help families improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways.

Please prayerfully consider what you can do; the need is great, and the resources are not. Be blessed.

Pastor Barry

In Church Worship Service for Easter!

A NEW RESURRECTION ON EASTER!

Okay, that may be an overly dramatic way to announce that Fletcher’s Chapel will reopen its doors for in-person worship on Easter Sunday, April 4.  We have not held in-person worship for over a year prioritizing keeping our people safe from the covid-19 virus.  However, with the rate of infection falling and with many of our congregation desiring to come back to live in-person worship, we are going to resume live gathered worship on Easter.  Again, in an effort to keep us all safe, we must all follow certain protocols.

  1.  Masks must be worn covering the mouth and nose.
  2. Seating is marked by blue tape.  Sit by households or sit with those with whom you have been spending much time.  There is also room for singles.
  3. Enter through the front door.  Exit through the side doors as marked by exit signs.
  4. We will not be permitted to sing.  HOWEVER, I JUST LEARNED THAT AS LIZ PLAYS OUR HYMNS, WE MAY ALL HUM THE MUSIC.  (HALELUJAH!)
  5. The Apostles’ Creed and the Lord’s Prayer may be recited, but very quietly.
  6. People are encouraged to bring and wear their own face masks, but face masks and hand sanitizer will be available in the narthex if desired.
  7. In the event we have more congregants than our sanctuary can accommodate safely, we have reconnected the loudspeaker in the fellowship hall to provide seating there.

We will continue to record our worship service for those who are reticent about returning to in-person worship now.  The service can be watched by typing www.fletcherschapel-kinggeorge-va.org into your computer browser.

We hope to see you on Easter.

Sermon for March 28, 2021!

Good morning! Well, here in Passapatanzy the day is starting off with rain. But that’s okay as it gives us time to take a break from our running about and to take time for reflecting on ourselves and our relationship with God! In our busy lives, we sometimes push God to the back even though we don’t mean too and may not even realize it. So stop, breathe and make time! Sunday is supposed to be our day of rest! If God could rest on the Sabbath then we should have no problem doing it either! Now to start this Sunday off, let’s start with a new sermon from Pastor Barry. And stay tuned as we will have more news on opening of Worship at the Church on Easter Sunday (next Sunday!) later this week.

Sermon for March 21, 2021!

Good morning! Welcome to spring! Well it has finally arrived – spring is in the air and plants are beginning to bloom! I always look forward to the spring and the awaking of the flowers and trees. It is like a coloring book colored by God with all of his wonderful colors! A celebration of life with the birds chirping and flowers blooming. Just when we are so tired of the cold winter months and the dreary days, God brings us the warmer and brighter days of spring to lead us into summer. So enjoy the day and don’t forget to thank God for another wonderful day! Now we can start the day with a new sermon from Pastor Barry!
